The Headland Cornwall

The-Headland003Dogs are welcome in our hotel & cottages – even wet and sandy ones, as long as they are well-behaved! For your four legged friends we will provide a dog bowl, blanket, food and some yummy treats. There’s a small charge of £15 per dog, per night. But with miles of sandy beach for them to run along it’s well worth it.

Great Walks

We hope that you have many happy hours exploring the surroundings of our beautiful hotel, and we’ve put together some routes to help you get the most out of what we believe to be one of the most scenic parts of the world. The walks below vary in length from about 3.5 miles to seven miles and will probably take between two and four hours each to complete. If you have any concerns about any of the routes, please ask at reception for more details as to the suitability of each walk for you; if necessary, we can always suggest longer or shorter routes depending how intrepid you feel, and we can even make up a pack lunch to take with you!

Best Beaches

There are eight sandy dog friendly beaches close by and another three a short drive away. Newquay is also the surfing capital of the UK, thanks largely to the iconic Fistral Beach – a long, sandy, west-facing beach with consistently good waves & is dog friendly all year round.

Whether you’re looking for lazy days or high adventure, you’ll find it all here. If you get tired of lying in the sun, splashing in the sea and building sandcastles, there are a host of activities to try such as coasteering or surfing – don’t forget to talk to Ben from Surfing is Therapy, which is based in the hotel.
