I absolutely adore all animals from all different walks of life, and currently have the most experience with animals from volunteering at Greenacres Animal Rescue.

Whilst volunteering I undertake tasks such as walking and playing with dogs of all different breeds and sizes, mucking out stables and getting fresh water and hay for the horses, cleaning and feeding many different small animals housing such as cats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and turkeys.

The dogs I’ve had contact with have been of many different breeds and sizes, from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs. I’ve walked dogs with varying levels of energy and trust in strangers, and always cater my walks and any play time to the individual personality of the dog.

The cats I’ve cared for have all been house cats of different breeds, although I am also comfortable around semi-feral cats.

Many of the rabbits, chickens and ducks live together at Greenacres, and I clean their hutches and feed them all together. I also clean and feed a few separated rabbits in their own hutches, who don’t get along with the others. I am very comfortable around small pets, and as I’ve had chickens and cockerels of my own in the past I am not afraid of getting pecked!

I have also had experience of working as a kennel hand in the past, in which I provided the complete care for 21 retired racing greyhounds. This included walking, weighing, feeding, grooming and cleaning out their kennels.

I also love to draw and animate which would be perfect for me to do in my spare time whilst house sitting.
