2012-2014 BTEC Animal management level 3– Merit, Merit, Distinction

Work Experience

July 2012 – 1 Week work experience in the Oak Vets- Observing operations, cleaning animals housing, feeding unwell animals, and also giving injections to the animals under supervision of the vet/veterinary nurse.

2013 – 1 week Work experience in Cotts equine Hospital, when I was on my week work experience I observed operations, cleaned out stables, groomed the horses, rugged up horses, and various other roles the vets set for me.

2013 – 2 week work experience at Bowlings Riding School, when I was on this placement I worked with disabled people, led horses for riders, mucked out stables, groomed horses, taught animal management and stable routines to students that came to Bowlings.

April 2013- October 2014- Trek leader – roles of job; Communicating with the public, building relationships, working in a fast paced role, organising treks and events, taking treks out and giving information to customers about local history, scheduling appointments, taking payments, general yard duties, exercising and schooling the horses, and teaching horse riding lessons.


My Interests are in animals; after leaving school I did a BTEC diploma in animal management. I have a great interest in horses; I compete in all of the local show jumping events. I also played in a successful school netball team, which has made me able to work well with others and as a team.
