A chicken is 75% water.

Chickens can live to be 20 years old, but on average they live to be about 8 years old.

Chickens with white ear lobes lay white eggs and those with red ear lobes lay brown eggs (only 3 or 4 rare breeds do not follow this rule).

To produce a dozen eggs, a chicken has to eat about 4lbs of feed.
